Vintage: When the Going Gets Tough...Go to Saly / by Meagan Camp

If you ever have the good fortune to visit Senegal (don't judge it by its airport) you may get a chance to escape Dakar and head down the coast to a popular beach town called Saly. There are many nice hotels and houses to rent right on the beach. Although the drive down can take a while  depending on the time of day and traffic you get to see all the suburbs and colorful people, places and animals along the way. It's also close to Bandia Safari park, Accro Baobab zipline park and Liqueur de Warang, a local company that makes its own liquers out of the indigenous fruits found in Senegal.
